Thermal Break
Thermal break could be described as basically the addition of a thermal insulating material between two thermally conductive materials e.g. element of low conductance placed between elements of higher conductance to reduce the flow of heat, often used in aluminum windows. It prevents or reduces the direct transmission of heat or cold between two surfaces.
Thermal Break Polyurethane - improving the thermal performance of glazing systems is important for energy conservation in buildings. A low conductivity polyurethane resin in an extrusion cavity is sometimes used. When hardened the base of the cavity is sawn giving a composite extrusion which is a single structure. Thus, the thermal bridge which separates the frame's interior and exterior has better energy conservation properties and will reduce condensation or frost.
Thermal break can use the pouring and de-bridging method, or rolled thermal break technology. This means joining of two parent aluminium extrusions by the mechanical insertion of extruded polyamide strips. This makes a single thermally broken assembly, giving greater thermal and energy efficiency and it's environmentally friendly.
